Unlocking Timon and Pumbaa in Disney Dreamlight Valley involves completing three quests, starting with “Finding Old Friends.” Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you bring the beloved duo from The Lion King to your valley.

Unlocking Timon and Pumbaa
To start, head to the Realm of The Lion King, the same area where you can unlock Simba and Nala. If you haven’t opened the door yet, it costs 10,000 Dream Shards. If you’re short on shards, complete Dreamlight Challenges to gather more.
You also need to have unlocked Simba and completed all of his quests. Once your friendship with Simba is high enough, he will give you the task to find Timon and Pumbaa.
Completing ‘Finding Old Friends’
- Talk to Simba to begin the quest. He’ll ask you to check on Timon and Pumbaa.
- Enter the Realm of The Lion King and watch the cutscene.
- Talk to Timon, who will introduce you to the concept of ‘Hakuna Matata.’
- Collect 4 Jungle Stones, 4 Jungle Wood, and 4 Red Jungle Leaves from the realm.
- Build a Workbench from the collected materials.
- Craft the Red Leaf Mane at the workbench and wear it. Then, talk to Timon again.
- Listen to Timon and Pumbaa’s conversation.
- Find the Lost Crown in the river (look for a golden fishing spot) and create an empty vial.
- Destroy the crown using your pickaxe.
- Follow Timon to the river and throw the bottle with your negative memories into the water.
- Return to the jungle camp and use your shovel to dig a sleeping pit for Timon and Pumbaa.
- Lie down on the bed of leaves to trigger the next quest, Relax.
Completing ‘Relax’
- Talk to Pumbaa, who wants to show you how to relax.
- Collect 6 Jungle Vines and 2 Palm Leaf Juice. The juice is near the camp, and the vines are hidden in shiny plants you’ll need to dig up in three locations: near the camp, the river, and the oasis.
- Craft the Relaxation Hammock at the workbench and give it to Pumbaa.
- Sit on the hammock and talk to Pumbaa again.
- Try all three sleeping places (near the camp, the riverbank, and the oasis) and then talk to Pumbaa.
- Sit in a bush to rest.
- Water Pumbaa’s mud holes (in front of the workbench).
- Catch 3 firefly swarms (one in each area). Be quick—they fly away!
- Cook roasted jungle fireflies at the river’s cooking station.
- Talk to Pumbaa to complete Relax.
Completing ‘Where is Pumbaa?’
- Talk to Timon, as Pumbaa has disappeared.
- Collect bugs needed for cooking.
- Make Green and Orange Bug Oil at the Cooking Station and combine them into Super Slimy Bug Oil. Give it to Timon.
- Free Pumbaa, who is stuck in a tree trunk.
- Return to Dreamlight Valley and ask Goofy for help.
- Craft the Reinforced Plunger at the workbench.
- Use the plunger to free Pumbaa and talk to both characters.
Once the quest is complete, Timon and Pumbaa will join your valley! You can increase your friendship with them and unlock new rewards as you level up.
