What is Nintendo Switch Online?
Nintendo Switch Online is a subscription service that has been running since the time of the first Switch. Through it you get:
- Access to online gameplay (such as online modes of Mario Kart World),
- A collection of classic games through emulation,
- Data backup in the cloud,
- And some exclusive offers too.
What is needed to create an account?
First, you must have a Nintendo Account linked to the console. When you first start your Nintendo Switch 2, you can transfer your old account and link it.
If your account is not already linked, go to:
- Console Settings > Users, go to any profile > select Link Nintendo Account.
If you do not have a Nintendo Account created, go to:
- System Settings > Users > Add New User and follow the steps.
How to subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online?
Once your account is linked, open the Nintendo eShop (from the Switch 2 home screen). Scroll through the left-side menu to find the Nintendo Switch Online option.
There you will have two subscription options:
- Individual Subscription: For one user only. Available in 3, 6, or 12 months.
- Family Membership: Up to 8 people can use it together. Perfect for sharing with family or friends (12 months plan only).
Choose whichever plan is right for you and complete the payment, the subscription will be activated immediately.
How to manage Nintendo Switch Online Account?
After creating an account, a small icon of Nintendo Switch Online will start appearing on your home screen. By clicking on it you can see your membership benefits, manage the account, or change the subscription.
Just tap your avatar in the top-left corner of the screen (or select it from the Joy-Con), and your account management section will open.
And that’s it! Now you can enjoy all the features of Nintendo Switch Online for as many days as you have planned.
