If you’ve been wandering through the wastelands of Borderlands 4, you’ve probably noticed some sealed doors with glowing barriers. These are the Order Bunkers — mini-dungeons full of tough enemies, bosses, and juicy loot. The catch? You can’t just kick down the door. You’ll need to unlock them properly first.
Here’s a complete guide on how Order Bunkers work, how to open them, and where to find all six.

What Are Order Bunkers?
Order Bunkers are side activities scattered across the world of Kairos. Think of them as compact challenge arenas: each one is locked behind a barrier, hides waves of enemies, and ends in a boss fight with a better chance of legendary loot drops.
Clearing a bunker doesn’t just give you gear — you also earn 40 SDU Tokens the first time you complete one, which can be spent on ammo and backpack upgrades. If you’re the type who likes maxing out your vault hunter, bunkers are a must.
How to Unlock Order Bunkers
Before you can enter even one bunker, you’ll need to finish the main mission “One Fell Swoop.” If you try to approach a bunker earlier, you’ll just get a warning message and won’t be able to pass the barrier.
Once the activity is unlocked:
- Look for the bunker entrance on your map.
- Nearby, you’ll find a Locust Canister — a special corrosive canister used to break the door seal.
- Pick it up (by hand or grappling hook) and quickly throw it at the bunker door. The canisters have a timer, so don’t hold onto them too long.
- Once the barrier dissolves, step inside and get ready for a fight.
All Order Bunker Locations
There are six Order Bunkers in total. Here’s where to find them and how to get inside:
1. Blacklime Bunker
- Region: The Fadefields
- Area: The Howl
- How to open: The Locust Canister sits on the rocks just across from the cave entrance. Grab it and toss it directly at the door.
2. Tipping Point
- Region: The Fadefields
- Area: Idolator’s Noose
- How to open: To the left of the bunker entrance, enter the fan shaft. Follow it until you reach a control room where the canister is waiting.
3. The Crawlcroft
- Region: Carcadia Burn
- Area: Grindstone of the Worthy
- How to open: Drop down into the mine where the entrance is located. Under the huge drill, you’ll find the canister on the right.
4. Craven’s Nook
- Region: Carcadia Burn
- Area: Heart of the Mountain
- How to open: Look for a rocky outcrop directly in front of the plateau where the entrance sits. The canister is placed right there.
5. The Wireworks
- Region: Carcadia Burn
- Area: The Niederfelsen
- How to open: Approach from the west side. Midway up the elevator in front of the entrance, you’ll spot the canister ready to use.
6. Ironwall Resolve
- Region: Dominion
- Area: Terminus District
- How to open: At the staircase leading to the bunker, check to the left near a garbage heap by a club. That’s where the canister is hidden.
Final Thoughts
The Order Bunkers in Borderlands 4 are some of the most rewarding optional content in the game. They mix puzzle-like exploration (finding the Locust Canister) with intense combat and meaningful rewards.
If you’re looking to farm legendary gear, beef up your inventory with SDU upgrades, or just want a tougher side challenge, make sure to add all six Order Bunkers to your hit list.
