This guide explains how friendship, romance, and villager requests work in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar (Remake).

Friendship
How to increase friendship:
- Talk to villagers daily
- Give them gifts they like
- Use the Greet function (ZL/LT)
Passive boosts:
- Place in the top 3 in festivals
- Sell goods to villagers at the Bazaar
Locked Hearts
At certain heart levels, progress is blocked until you:
- Complete a request (non-romantic characters)
- Trigger a special event (romantic characters)
Check the Villager Info tab:
- “Has a favor to ask!” → Blue marker on map
- “Something special might happen!” → Romantic event, pink marker
Romance & Marriage
- At 6 hearts, you decide whether to start dating
- You can date multiple characters without penalty
- To marry:
- Buy the Double Bed from Wilbur’s Saturday stall
- Reach 8 hearts
- A cutscene plays → you receive the Blue Feather → use it to propose
Marriage changes little beyond your spouse moving in and adding new dialogue.
Requests
- Requests are not retroactive (e.g., “Do X times”)
- You can stockpile items in advance
- Higher-level requests require higher star-quality items → keep upgrading Harvest Sprites
