Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred – How to Solve the Fire Bowl Puzzle in Akarat's Crypt

Fighting through hordes of Dreggs, demons, and monsters is tough enough, but are you stuck on the fire bowl puzzle in the Vessel of Hatred quest? Don’t worry—here’s how to solve it!

How to Solve the Fire Bowl Puzzle

In Akarat’s Crypt, you’ll come across four fire bowls. To unlock the door to the next area, you need to light them in the correct sequence:

  1. Activate the first fire bowl. This will ignite all three front bowls but leave the rear one unlit.
  2. Activate the rear bowl. It will start burning, but the lower and upper bowls will extinguish.
  3. Light the lower bowl. This will put out all the other bowls.
  4. Activate the upper bowl. Now, all the bowls should be burning, unlocking the door!
Here is the correct order for solving the fire bowl puzzle.

Watch Out for Enemies

Each time you activate a fire bowl, enemies will spawn around you. If you’re playing on higher difficulty, things can get hectic fast. A good strategy is to activate one bowl, defeat the enemies, then move on to the next. This way, the fight stays manageable.

Where to Find the Puzzle

The puzzle appears as the second challenge inside Akarat’s tomb, near the village of Samuk. You’ll need three people—yourself, Neyrelle, and Eru—to open the path to the tomb using magic.

Once inside, you’ll face several challenges. First, Neyrelle must confront her past, and then the floor collapses, releasing elite enemies. After dealing with them, you’ll reach the fire bowl puzzle.

With this guide, you can now light those bowls and keep moving forward!
